Advocate Health Neurodiagnostic Technology Program is a full time four year hospital based program dedicated to preparing individuals for a rewarding career in the neurodiagnostic field.
Our Program
Spans over four years which, the first two years are completed at Carroll University and the last two years are on campus at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. The program offers academic and clinical training to give students the essentials knowledge and skills to become a well-rounded technologist. New classes start each Fall following Carroll University schedules.
Students will apply for ABRET Registration Electroencephalographic Technologists (R.EEG T.) in the summer of junior year. In the senior year the students will apply for ABRET Registration Evoke Potentials Technologists (R. EP T.) over winter break. Upon graduation students will be eligible to apply for ABRET Certification of Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLMT) and ABRETCertification for Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM).
Mission
The mission of Carroll University’s and Advocate Aurora Health Bachelor of Science in Neurodiagnostic Technology program is to prepare students to become ethical healthcare technologists who incorporate critical thinking, evidence-based principles, and interprofessional practice in the neurodiagnostic field.
Curriculum
Curriculum is based on the Committee Accredited for Education in Neurodiagnostic Technology (CoA-NDT) as established by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), The faculty presents the curriculum through formal lecture, laboratory, and clinical applications to enhance the learning experience. Written and practical tests are administered at defined intervals. A syllabus that outlines course goals, requirements and lecture schedule is distributed at the beginning of each course. The preparation of Case Study projects is a regularly scheduled program requirement.
