Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center
Wisconsin’s largest private hospital
Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is internationally known for its expertise in heart care. We have interventional cardiologists and a full catheterization staff on-site 24/7. St. Luke's is the only hospital in Wisconsin to offer this kind of around-the-clock heart care.
Patients are assessed immediately, minimizing time between arrival and an angioplasty to open their blocked artery. This is referred to as "door-to-balloon time," and Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is striving to achieve the lowest door-to-balloon time in the state.
The facility has 983 hospital beds and offers:
Advanced heart failure therapies clinic
We have a dedicated team of 10 advanced heart failure cardiologists and thoracic surgeons. There is emphasis on the management of patients with advanced heart failure and pre- and post-operative management of heart transplant patients and LVAD patients.
Our program also includes hands-on management of ventricular assist devices and long-term management of transplant patients.
Clinical units
One of the state's largest community care hospitals, Aurora St. Luke’s has 76 critical care beds. Of these beds, 29 are for cardiovascular intensive care, transplant patients and post-anesthesia recovery.
Catheterization & electrophysiology laboratories
There are five laboratories for electrophysiological studies, and 10 for cardiac catheterization diagnostic studies and interventions. Aurora St Luke's also has hybrid catheterization labs.
Emergency department and surgical suites: The emergency department has beds for up to 38 patients; 6 of 21 surgical suites are equipped for cardiac procedures.
