Nuclear Medicine Technology program requirements

Eligible students may be accepted into our program in one of two ways:

1. Transferring as a senior from one of our affiliated academic institutions

   Our affiliates accept the Nuclear Medicine Technology program as the fourth year, completing a bachelor’s degree.

   Tuition and fees are based on 85% of the tuition from the affiliated academic institution. This fee covers all textbooks and supplies. The supplies include one set of hospital scrubs, radiation monitors and any other required daily supplies.

   Our current affiliates are:

   • St. Cloud State University (St. Cloud, Minnesota)
   • University of Wisconsin (La Crosse, Wisconsin)
   • Luther College (Decorah, Iowa)

   NOTE: Interns from affiliated colleges are preferred due to prior academic class work.

2. Transferring after completion of a bachelor’s degree in a science or science-related major from an accredited college or university

   Tuition and fees for the year are $6,000. This fee covers all textbooks and supplies. The supplies include one set of hospital scrubs, radiation monitors and any other required daily supplies. Financial aid is not available for tuition during the internship if you are not from an affiliated college.

   Students applying with a Bachelor of Science in a related science (e.g., biology, chemistry) must have a grade point average of 2.5 or better.

Minimum prerequisites

The following courses must be completed prior to the start of the internship:

Science and mathematics core courses (required)

• Chemistry with lab
• College algebra
• General physics
• Human anatomy and physiology with lab

General prerequisite core (required)

• Humanities course
• Medical terminology
• Oral and written communications courses
• Social science course
• 10 hours of clinical observation in nuclear medicine

Additional classes (highly recommended)

• Statistics
• Biology
• Immunology
• Computer informatics
• Medical ethics
• Radiation biology
• Cross-sectional anatomy
