Meet the fellows

Ankoor Biswas

Dr. Ankoor (Neil) Biswas, MD

Additional Information:

I'm originally from Apple Valley, a town in the High Desert of Southern California. After undergrad and part of medical school at Northwestern University, I completed my medical degree in Poland. I've been at Aurora Health Care ever since, starting with internal medicine residency followed by chief residency and then assuming an internal medicine teaching faculty role. I won several teaching awards during my time, and I'm excited to stay involved in medical education after fellowship. I chose the Aurora Health Care Hematology/Oncology Fellowship because of the fantastic mentors and role models who are on staff, and I'm dedicated to helping subsequent classes of fellows have the same wonderful experience that I have been lucky to have so far.

I'm a borderline maniacal sports (more sports than I can list here) fan and TV buff. My wife and I love traveling the world and dragging our two young children along.

Internal Medicine Residency: Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, WI

Hello, I'm Dan Mundt, and my path to the world of oncology began over 10 years ago when I became a part of the Angel Foundation of Minnesota, a non-profit organization providing non-medical emergency financial assistance as well as education and support programming to adults affected by cancer and their families. As a participant and employee, I witnessed how cancer could bring immense sadness and struggle to individuals and families. However, it also revealed the power of communities coming together to create positivity in the face of adversity. Graduating from medical school in 2019, I gained a diverse perspective through my education in Sint Maarten and Manhattan. I completed my Internal Medicine residency in June 2022 in Milwaukee. Subsequently, I became one of the first Hematology Oncology fellows at Aurora.

What drives me in this field is the transformation I witness in patients and their families, from the initial overwhelming diagnosis to building trust in our team throughout their treatment. My focus is on outpatient medical oncology, particularly solid tumors, and my vision is to create a supportive, close-knit clinic team in my future practice. Beyond medicine, I enjoy hosting dinner parties that foster community and friendship and cooking and eating new dishes.

Hometown: Chicago, IL
Residency: West Suburban Medical Center

After graduating from Internal medicine residency, I joined the Sickle Cell Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I had the privilege of caring for patients with this devastating disease. I covered the inpatient service, managed acute complications, and cared for patients in the outpatient clinic. I decided to pursue a fellowship in hematology/oncology after working alongside some amazing hematologists and oncologists for four years. I was fascinated by the thought of a career in a field that covers a wide breadth of topics and is constantly making advancements. I looked forward to being able to help my patients navigate the complexities of their disease and build trusting relationships with them.

I chose the Aurora Hematology Oncology Fellowship after meeting the faculty and fellows during my interview. I was excited about to the opportunity to work at multiple locations to care for patients of different populations. My first few months here as a fellow have been amazing. The faculty, staff, and colleges have all been very welcoming and helpful.
