Critical Care fellows

Zubair Siddiqui

Additional Information:

I completed my medical training in Hyderabad, India, followed by IM training at Sinai Grace hospital in Detroit and an ID fellowship at the University of Kentucky. I was drawn to critical care by its clinical and ethical challenges and a desire to guide patients and their families through challenging experiences. I chose the Aurora Critical Care Fellowship for its stand-alone critical care fellowship, the diversity of the critical care faculty, and the emphasis on broad training across the spectrum of Critical Care. The experience has been welcoming and conducive to growth, with ample autonomy and opportunities for learning.

I enjoy running, ping-pong and cooking. In medical school, I won an inter-university gold medal in boxing.

Additional Information:

I hail from a small farm town north of Seattle. After completing a degree at Gonzaga University, I attended medical school in Poland. My IM residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital was dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic, and I spent much of my clinical time staffing makeshift ICUs throughout the hospital, which kindled my passion for critical care. After IM training, I worked as an ICU nocturnist.

I chose the Aurora Critical Care Fellowship to be part of cultivating a new program in a large hospital with a very diverse patient mix. I have traveled to 19 countries, and I enjoy cooking and learning new languages and cultures.
